Why should I join the Booster Club?
While RISD will provide our teams with all uniforms, basic equipment, and safety equipment needed, PABC will help provide supplemental items needed not only to complete, but excel at the highest level. Joining PABC makes dollars directly available to the sport(s) the donor-member chooses. The Pearce Athletic Booster Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization led by a board of parent volunteers who work closely with the coaches and team reps to assist with the current needs of each sport.
How will my membership dollars be allocated?
The first 15% of every membership goes to the PABC scholarship fund, which annually awards four-year scholarships to graduating seniors. The next 25% goes to the PABC General Fund (see below for examples of how the General Fund supports JJP athletics). The remaining 60% goes to the sport/group the donor-member chooses to be exclusively used for the benefit of that sport/group.
How will my sport/group use its funds?
It is up to each sport's head coach, in conjunction with their team reps, to determine how the sport uses its funds. Funds are typically used for supplemental training equipment, practice gear, tournaments, coaching tools, and banquets.
How does the General Fund use its funds?
Spending by the General Fund is intended to benefit all sports and is overseen by the PABC board of directors. Annual and general purchases include:
Membership Toolkit Annual License ($750)
Monthly Accounting Fees ($1,400/month)
Annual Fall & Spring Kick-Offs
Registration/Taxes on Inflatable Trailer
Signing Day Celebrations
New Scorer's Table (2023)
Gym Sideline Chair
Additional Ice Machine
Software for Trainers
Record Board for Track & Field
Sound System for Natatorium / B-Field
All-Program Book Study
